Foire du Trone
This year the Foire du Trone will be held from March 31 to May 28 - a large fair with ancient origins: the first edition dates back to the year 1131.
A colossal amusement park will take over part of the large Bois de Vincennes park, Pelouse de Reuilly, for two months. The Foire du Trone is one of Europe's largest traveling amusement parks: more than 350 attractions and rides covering 10 hectares awaits you.
Each year this colossal amusement park is visited by an enormous number of Parisians: about 5 million people are estimated to eat 90 tons of French fries and drink enough beer to fill an Olympic swimming pool during the 65 days of the event.
Originally the fair was called St. Anthony's fair featuring the sale of a special spiced bread. Later, this bread was baked in the pig shape it still preserves in tribute to a law that only permitted St. Anthony's followers' pigs to freely roam the streets of Paris.
How to get to the Foire du Trone:
Metro: Line 8, Porte Dorée or Liberté.
A free shuttle bus service from Nation to Pelouse de Reuilly runs frequently throughout the fair period.
